Growing up as a child of Caribbean descent Chef Samuel was always exposed to good, fresh foods. Everyone around him cooked extraordinarily and he enjoyed absorbing it all. Thus began his love affair with food.
In time Chef Samuel realized that only two things truly interested him; food and music. He discovered his culinary potential while cooking for friends, sophomore year at Berklee College of Music where he gained a BA in Music Production and Engineering.
After Berklee, Chef Samuel enrolled in the highly acclaimed Institute of Culinary Education where he graduated with Honors. He went on to work at Whole Foods Market where he learned extensively about cooking with natural, organic ingredients. After two years Chef Samuel landed at Robert De Niro’s landmark restaurant, Tribeca Grill. He worked as a line cook and gained the invaluable skills of quickly completing high volume orders and catering banquets.
Desiring to work in a more intimate restaurant setting, Chef Samuel then joined the opening team at Alain Allegretti’s restaurant. It was at this restaurant that he learned French cuisine. The food he cooked there was extremely detailed and required meticulous execution. In a short time, Chef Alain generously taught him the art of cooking fine foods and appreciating exceptional ingredients.
In New York, a city as diverse as the dishes he prepares, Chef Samuel takes full advantage of the varied culinary resources at his disposal. Chef Samuel is most passionate about the food that he cooks and the people that he is privileged enough to serve.
Since leaving the restaurant industry, he has cooked for clients such as MTV, Spike TV, Gravure Magazine, and other various professionals. Chef Samuel has also catered various corporate events and looks forward to serving you personally.
